Our Beliefs
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons- God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal, co-eternal, and are one God. God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-present. He is perfect, holy, unchanging, truthful, loving, patient, benevolent, faithful, wise, gracious, and merciful. He is passionate about people. He is crazy about you.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal and co-eternal with the Father. He has always existed. On earth, Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless human life, and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the Cross. The cross was no accident. It was always God’s plan. He came for that very purpose- to pay our sin debt by dying on the cross on our behalf. He took our place. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended into Heaven and will return again someday to judge the living and the dead.
The Holy Spirit is co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, illumination for understanding the Bible, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer spiritual gifts (talents) to be used for service in the church and in the world. As Christians, we seek to live under His control and in His power daily.
The Bible is God’s Word to us. Written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Bible is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Being inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error in the original autographs. The Bible is our road-map for living and contains practical wisdom for every aspect of life.
Humans are the only beings in creation that were fashioned in the image of God. People are the supreme object of God’s creation and were created for a special relationship with God. He loves us! However, when we sin, we are separated from that relationship with a holy God. Because of our sinful nature, we cannot save ourselves. We need forgiveness. Someone must pay the penalty for our sin. That’s what Jesus accomplished on the cross. He paid our debt.
Forgiveness and eternal life in heaven is God’s free gift to us, but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. It can’t be earned. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ and what he accomplished for us on the cross can we be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith, we are saved. God forgives all of our sins (past, present, and future) the very moment we repent of our sins, trust in Jesus and what He did for us on the cross, and surrender to His rule of our lives.
The true believer is secure in their salvation for an eternity. If you have been genuinely saved, you cannot lose it. Salvation cannot be earned by works, and it cannot be lost by falling short in works. We are saved by His grace and by our faith in what Jesus did for us. It’s a gift from God. We didn’t earn it in the first place. We never deserved it. Honestly, even the strongest believer will continue to struggle with sin until the day they die. Thankfully, the blood of Jesus is sufficient to cleanse us from all of our sins (past, present, and future). God doesn’t disown His children when we fall short (all do). The security of our salvation rests in the mighty power of God, His unending faithfulness, His amazing grace, His unconditional love, and His eternal promises.
People were created to exist forever. Our physical bodies are temporal. But our souls were created for an eternity. We will either exist eternally separated from God because of our sin, or we will live eternally in the presence of God because of His gracious forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. This is what we all deserve. To be eternally in His presence is eternal life. This is what we gain because of His grace and our faith in Jesus Christ. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence. God loves all people and wishes for everyone to trust in Jesus so we might all spend an eternity with Him in heaven.
We are here to share the love and glory of God and to point others to Christ.
Everything we do is driven by a passion for connecting people to God and one another.
